Potluck

Thanks to all those who gave feedback to our proposal (more below), like most of what we do this is an experiment that cannot happen without our producers, our consumers, and some enthusiasm from both sides.  If you haven’t given us feedback yet please do, the board will be reviewing the data next week and we want to get everyone in - http://laluchaspace.com
You may have noticed that all this planning and organizing has made our regular plate of the day service a bit inconsistent, so we have decided to start transitioning to frequent potlucks because, quite frankly, we miss seeing you all on a regular basis. This will help us keep you updated and more of our community to connect at once.  We’ll still be around for drop ins - just check Twitter.com/LaLuchaSpace to see what we’re up to.

Please join us for a potluck! La Lucha Space will make the entre, provide tea and coffee, if you’d like please bring a side-dish or dessert with a local ingredient, but don’t let it stop you from coming!  Invite your friends! Tuesday April 2nd at 6pm. La Lucha Space, 2035 Prince, Conway AR for the (potluck series) kickoff.

A bit about the move to Downtown

La Lucha Space has been, since it’s very inception, an experiment.  Those who have known us longest know that ours is a humble and grass-roots beginning.  In recognition of the high cost of operating in ‘public’, we decided to transform a portion of our private space into La Lucha Space.  Then we invited pretty much whoever we could into that place to help create something... We convinced people to engage their optimism and imagine what could be with what is available to us and not what is.  We made food and offered it to our community as a means for engagement.  The result was countless conversations, projects and events in which time and time again we were surprised and delighted to find that, often completely invisible, there were brilliant, inventive, and creative people all over the place and they were looking for ways to engage and participate with their community.

Volunteering w/ La Lucha Space

At La Lucha Space nearly everything we do is volunteer driven.  Our organization currently has one part-time staff member - Sandra who serves as our director. As you can imagine - you, the volunteers, are very important to us.  We want to provide ways not just for you to give time to our efforts in the community, but to truly use your talents.  That's what we're all about!  We are a diverse creative and productive community, our projects together should reflect that.  Some changes to our site are in progress, so check back soon for more opportunities and a way to register.

For now please email info@laluchaspace.com if you're interested in volunteering for any current needs listed here - or to offer something we're not!

Thanks for your interest in helping advance the Mission and Vision of La Lucha Space.

Seeking Community Media Volunteers

The Conway Wiki is a platform to provide our community a place to tell the story of what makes Conway an interesting, fun and unique place to live.  We have launched this project and established some base content, but recently have been too busy with the planning necessary for the Locals to properly promote the wiki.

We need you help.

Introducing the Locals

Recently we have made the decision to pursue moving the daily operation of our organization to Downtown and expanding our programs to include facilitating retail space and a co-working space for our local producers.  The retail space (program) will be called "the Locals" and co-working will be fittingly called "Co-Working with the Locals".  Various ways to participate will be structured as memberships. We're excited about the benefits these can provide to many of our local producers while helping to further our organizations mission and vision.
